  4. Hace 3 días · Stoke Newington Grammar school was founded in 1886 to provide a mainly commercial education for 120 boys at nos. 6 and 8 Manor Road. It closed in 1925. Servite Sisters ran a Roman Catholic High school at no. 114 Lordship Road 1900-10.

Students in receipt of the award are; Zola, Jamila, Elsa, Raffaella, Henry and Ella. On behalf of the school, a very well deserved congratulations.

  6. Hace 5 días · At Homerton, Ram's episcopal chapel established a girls' school in 1792 and a boys' in 1801. At Kingsland a school later connected with Kingsland Congregational church was opened in 1808 on the Stoke Newington side of the boundary.

  7. Hace 2 días · Short streets filled the space between Stoke Newington High Street and the common, where a British school of 1838 and a Methodist chapel of 1861 were built near the almshouses. In 1868 the common was otherwise bordered by fields and the grounds of Baden Farm and Thornbury Park to the north and of Elm Lodge to the south-east.
