Matthew Beard Jr. (January 1, 1925 – January 8, 1981) was an American actor. As a child actor, he was most famous for playing Stymie in the Our Gang short comedy films of 1930–1935.

Beard's character was known for his bald head alongside an oversized hat, which he got from comedian Stan Laurel. Off the screen, Beard had a tough time with his many struggles.
Spanky, Stymie and friends judge Alfalfa's punishment to be left guarding the go-kart day and night until the day of the race.
