I’d like to drive about 4 - 5 hours a day. I will have my elderly mother with me, who can’t walk far, but I’d like to be able to show her some ocean vistas.

Reef sharks aren’t a danger to humans - they aren’t particularly interested in us. There are many options off Cairns like Quicksilver, and also smaller boats that go thre two or three different reefs like Wavelength.
