To many of us it's been more than half a lifetime, yet memories of Whittingehame are still vividly in our minds. I hope you enjoy going through the material as much as I enjoyed putting it together. There are now over 6000 photos in the albums, some 10,000 scanned pages of documents, 30 hours of audio and 6 hour of videos .
Whittingehame is a parish with a small village in East Lothian, Scotland, about halfway between Haddington and Dunbar, and near East Linton. The area is on the slopes of the Lammermuir Hills. Whittingehame Tower dates from the 15th century and remains a residence.
Whittingehame House, built in the early 19th century, is a mansion set on the opposite (east) bank of the glen, facing south- west. The Tower is visible in the view from the main rooms of the house.

Whittingehame is situated between the Lammermuir Hills and the Firth of Forth, approximately 3 miles (5km) south of East Linton and 6 miles (10km) south-west of Dunbar on the Firth. The designed landscape is laid out on either side of the glen of the Whittingehame Water and is bounded by minor roads and by the B6370 to the south.
Whittingehame Church stands in remotest rural East Lothian a mile west of Stenton and 2½ miles south of East Linton. What you find is a pinnacled and battlemented Gothic church in red sandstone with a tower at its west end. Christianity in Whittingehame has ancient origins.
