Death Valley National Park. California, United States North America. Death Valley National Park is located in the southcentral part of eastern California . The park runs along the border of California and Nevada. The park covers an area of 5,270 square miles (13,650 sq km) making it the largest national park in the lower 48 contiguous states.
Death Valley in California is the largest national park in the lower 48 states with over 3 million acres of protected wilderness (only behind Denali in Alaska). It also holds the record for the highest temperature in the world, 134 Fahrenheit which was set in 1913.
