About Guamote . While Guamote has a population of 35,000 this includes a large rural area outside of the town. The part that is the ‘town’ measures only about 1 km × 1.5 km in size (not very large). It consists mostly of 2-storey painted concrete buildings with cobblestone roads on a hillside with a noticeable slope.

By bus: From Riobamba 45 minutes travel, buses every 20 minutes from/to Guamote.These local busses bring you to the railway station in the centre of the village. Interprovincial busses leave you at the Panamerican Highway wherefrom you have a five minute walk up to the village. From Quito 4,5 hours travel, buses aprox every hour.

Fue este martes 10 de octubre cuando las autoridades llegaron hasta el sector San Vicente y encontraron los restos calcinados de un hombre junto a residuos de llantas y palos.
