Born to famous film music composer and director Maurice Jarre , JMJ studied harmony and counterpoint, became a student of the great musicologist Pierre Schaeffer and began drawing his own creative conclusions from his mentor’s “musique concrète”.

Jean-Michel André Jarre (Lione, 24 agosto 1948) è un musicista e compositore francese.. Viene principalmente ricordato in Italia per l'album Oxygène del 1976, registrato in uno studio improvvisato nella sua abitazione e che grazie alle sue dodici milioni di copie vendute è rimasto il suo più grande successo commerciale. Jarre ha mantenuto uno standard di popolarità alto.
