Despite fielding an impressive four-track operating display of standard gauge trains at the Century of Progress in 1933 and 1934 and half-hearted attempts at other toy lines later on, Flyer fell on hard times.

  2. Lionel L.L.C. has tapped Hybrid Systems Ltd., Inc. as an "Officially Licensed Partner" to develop and market the American Flyer Digital Archive 1907 - 1937 (Chicago Era)!! It is hard to argue that someone other than Lionel, with its hard-driving founder, Joshua Lionel Cowen, dominated the post-World War II electric toy train market.

  3. For those truly spectacular toy train items, one cannot really say they own them; rather they are a temporary caretaker of such an extraordinary item. At least that is how I view my possession of the American Flyer 1930 catalog artwork. The artwork is an original “Goauche” painting.
