Leben. Wyatt entstammte dem Adel und diente am Hof Heinrichs VIII., der ihn 1527 auf diplomatische Mission nach Italien sandte. Dort geriet Wyatt zwar vorübergehend in kaiserliche Gefangenschaft, doch konnte er sich mit italienischer Renaissancedichtung vertraut machen. 1528–32 war Wyatt Marshal von Calais und 1537–39 Gesandter in Spanien.
Thomas Wyatt nació en 1503 en Allington Castle, Kent, Inglaterra. Hijo de Henry Wyatt y Anne Skinner. Estudió en Cambridge, donde se graduó en 1518. En el año 1524 Enrique VIII le encomendó misiones en el país y en el extranjero. Encarcelado en 1536 por cortejar a Ana Bolena.
Thomas Wyatt was born in 1504. His father was a Lancastrian, imprisoned and tortured near the end of the Wars of the Roses in the reign of Richard III, then promoted to high office by Henry VII. Thomas entered the court of Henry VIII where he filled a range of important posts, and survived (but only just) the terrifying changes of fortune facing all who tried to serve that dangerous king.
