Ad Reinhardt wrote articles, drew cartoons, and enjoyed questioning everything and everyone in the art world. He believed that abstraction was the only true art, describing movements such as surrealism and Dadaism as “baloney” and sculpture as “something you bump into when you back up to look at a painting.”
