Jeanne Hébuterne (1898–1920) was a young aspiring artist when she met Modigliani in March 1917. They fell in love and moved to the Côte d’Azur, where Jeanne gave birth to their daughter. After returning to Paris in May 1919, Modigliani’s health deteriorated, the result of alcohol and drug abuse, poverty, and childhood afflictions.

Most likely , they met at the Accademia Colarossi , where she worked over her easel , over and over again erasing the drawing to start over.
The name of Jeanne Hébuterne is inseparable from that of Amedeo Modigliani, and the surprising and sad truth is that it was her death rather than life that tied them together forever. It is common knowledge that she committed suicide the day after Modigliani's death and was buried in the same grave. She didn't live to see her 22nd birthday.

Now best known for being Modigliani’s model, partner and the mother of their daughter Jeanne, Hébuterne was an art student when she met the artist, who was then about thirty-two.
