Das Burgtheater in Wien ist ein österreichisches Bundestheater.Es gilt als eine der bedeutendsten Bühnen Europas und ist nach der Comédie-Française das zweitälteste europäische sowie das größte deutschsprachige Sprechtheater.Das alte Burgtheater befand sich ab 1748 am Michaelerplatz.Im Oktober 1888 wurde das neue Haus am heutigen Universitätsring (damals Franzensring) eröffnet.
