Carl Correns (o Carl Franz Joseph Erich Correns) (* Munich, 19 de septiembre 1864- Berlín, 14 de febrero 1933) fue un biólogo, genetista y botánico alemán.. Junto a E.Tschermark y Hugo de Vries, redescubren, a comienzos del s.XX, las leyes de Mendel.. Huérfano de madre, se cría con su tía en Suiza. Ingresa, en 1885, a la Universidad de Munich, estudiando botánica, química y física.

Carl Wilhelm Correns (19 de mayo de 1893-29 de agosto de 1980) fue un geólogo alemán pionero en el campo de la petrología sedimentaria. Hugo de Vries also – independently – rediscovered Gregor Mendel 's work on genetics. Erich von Tschermak 's status as a third rediscoverer is now less convincing.
