Chris Cutler (* 4.Januar 1947 in Washington, D.C., USA) ist ein britischer Schlagzeuger, Perkussionist, Komponist, Schriftsteller und Musiktheoretiker. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seine Arbeit mit den englischen Avantgarde-Rock-Bands Henry Cow und Art Bears, als Initiator der Rock-In-Opposition-Bewegung und als Gründer des Plattenlabels und -vertriebs Recommended Records.

After recording the first Art Bears LP – which started out as a Henry Cow LP until the band decided not to release it, we decided to stop Henry Cow – but tour for another 8 months, to say goodbye to all the people who’d supported us over the years. Breaking up was a bit like being born again.
