Jeanne Pruett struggled for years under RCA Records in the 1960s, before signing successfully with Decca Records in 1969, which then became MCA Records the year "Satin Sheets" was released. She finally started charting the Country list in 1971, then by 1972, she was hitting the Top 40 with her self-penned "Love Me" (later a bigger Country hit for Marty Robbins ).

About Jeanne Pruett Best known for her chart-topping smash "Satin Sheets," Jeanne Pruett was a country-pop singer and songwriter who enjoyed a measure of success in the '70s and early '80s. Born Norma Jean Bowman in Pell City, AL, in 1937, she started singing in high school and moved to Nashville in 1956 with her husband Jack Pruett, who went on to become Marty Robbins' guitarist.
Jeanne Pruett was born Norma Jean Bowman in Pell City, Alabama in 1937. At a young age, she listened to the Grand Ole Opry, harmonized with her siblings, and sang in high school music programs. After high school, she married her childhood sweetheart, Jack Pruett; and in 1956, the couple moved to Nashville, TN.
