Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark appelé également OMD est un groupe britannique de musique new wave formé en 1978 à Meols, un village situé au nord de la péninsule de Wirral dans le comté du Merseyside en Angleterre.Les plus célèbres chansons du groupe sont Messages, Electricity, Enola Gay, Souvenir, Tesla Girls et If You Leave.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark werd in 1978 opgericht door Andy McCluskey en Paul Humphreys.Het tweetal uit Liverpool speelde al jaren samen in talloze obscure bandjes (met illustere namen als VCL XI, Hitlerz Underpantz en The Id) en allebei waren ze gefascineerd door de elektronische muziek van onder andere Kraftwerk en Tangerine Dream.
