Kaige Chen was born on 12 August 1952 in Beijing, China. He is a producer and director, known for Farewell My Concubine (1993), The Battle at Lake Changjin (2021) and Yellow Earth (1984). He has been married to Hong Chen since 1996.
陈凯歌，1952年8月12日出生于中国北京市西城区，祖籍福建长乐，毕业于北京电影学院，中国内地男导演、监制、制片人、演员。1984年执导电影处女作《黄土地》，该片获得第38届洛迦诺国际电影节银豹奖。1987年凭借剧情片《孩子王》获得第8届中国电影金鸡奖导演特别奖。
