Leben und Werk. Larry Clark begann als Assistent im Fotogeschäft seiner Mutter zu fotografieren, in dem er im Haustürgeschäft Kinder- und Babyfotos machte. 1961 begann er ein Studium in Commercial Photography an der Layton School of Art in Milwaukee.Von 1964 bis 1966 leistete er seinen Militärdienst ab und nahm dabei auch am Vietnamkrieg teil.
