John Coolidge Adams, né le 15 février 1947 à Worcester (Massachusetts), est un compositeur et chef d'orchestre américain de musique contemporaine. Au départ fortement inspiré par la musique minimaliste, il s'en éloigne en produisant des œuvres dans des styles très divers, marquées par une grande habileté orchestrale.
