George Burns (born Nathan Birnbaum; January 20, 1896 - March 9, 1996) was one of a select few performers who found success both on the vaudeville stage and on screen. With his wife and collaborator Grace Allen, he developed a trademark straight man style, playing the foil to Allen's comedic "illogic logic" persona.
