Rupert Grint è di origini irlandesi ed è il più grande dei cinque figli di Nigel Grint e Jo Parsone [1]. Ha un fratello e tre sorelle: James (nato nel 1990), Georgina (nata nel 1993), Samantha (1996) e Charlotte (1998).
