Danny Ray Whitten (Columbus, 8 maggio 1943 – Los Angeles, 18 maggio 1972) è stato un cantautore e chitarrista statunitense.Fu uno dei membri fondatori dei Crazy Horse, gruppo d'accompagnamento del musicista canadese Neil Young.Whitten è noto anche per essere l'autore del brano I Don't Want to Talk About It, rivelatosi un hit per Rita Coolidge, Rod Stewart ed Everything but the Girl.

They performed a 16-song set that featured mostly songs from Neil's solo material, Buffalo Springfield catalog, and CSNY days. They played only four originals, all in the last half of the set.

Whitten met up with future Crazy Horse bandmember Billy Talbot at a Los Angeles club in the mid-'60s, and the duo (neither of whom played instruments at that point) formed a vocal group they dubbed Danny and the Memories.
