Mad Shadows: Difficult second album. This finds the Ian & the boys searching for a commercial musical direction. Much darker than the self titled first LP mad shadows is a good solid album from the band. They would change direction again on the 1971 follow up "Wildlife" probably due to the record company pressure for success.

Mad Shadows. AOTM #5, October 2000ce. Released 1970 on Island/Atlantic. When Mott the Hoople went into the recording studio to record this, their second album, it was known as Sticky Fingers. The front sleeve was already complete and featured an outsize Frankenstein's monster driving a dragster through the night.
