Opium. Opium je zaschlá šťáva získaná z nezralých makovic máku setého ( Papaver somniferum ). Jedná se o rostlinnou látku významnou svým obsahem alkaloidů, především morfinu, jenž působí jako opiát. K řadě dalších látek patří např. kodein (rovněž opiát), noskapin, papaverin, či thebain.
