仮面の正体（かめんのしょうたい、英：Unmasked）は1980年にキッスが発表した8枚目のスタジオアルバム。. 前作『地獄からの脱出』のヒットに気を良くしたメンバーは、前作を担当したプロデューサー、ヴィニ・ポンシアを再度起用し、さらなるポップ化路線を進めることを決定、本作を制作した。
Unmasked ist das achte Studioalbum der der US-amerikanischen Hard-Rock-Band Kiss.Es erschien 1980 und gehört musikalisch in eine kurze Zwischenphase in der Geschichte der Rockgruppe, die durch die damalige Discowelle bedingt war. Das Album erreichte hohe Chartplatzierungen.International bekannt wurde der Song Shandi, der in einigen Ländern gute Platzierungen erlangte.
Probably the lightest sounding album KISS ever made. I owned the original US LP from 1980 and I remember being disappointed on the SOUND ( too light, no punch), and of some of the songs, particularly Gene's and some of Ace's, but especially Side B which is basically the shit the remaining three members of this band had lying around.

1 de oct. de 2020 · By the end of they Dynasty Tour, the Kiss Empire was eroding quickly. Between Ace’s and Peter’s drinking problems (among other things), the band was at an all time low. During an interview on October 31, 1979 on the Tom Snyder Show, Ace was totally hammered and you could see the faces of Gene and Paul and they did not look altogether happy.
Unmasked is often considered to be Kiss's worst album, which implies is just downright lousy.Actually, it's quite listenable. The album's bad reputation most likely stems from a fan-base with limited musical range. One of the things that made Kiss's early work so accessible surely wasn't the result of a one-dimensional hard-rock sound.
Unmasked is the eighth studio album by American hard rock band Kiss, released on May 20, 1980, by Casablanca Records. It was their first not to feature original drummer and founding member Peter Criss. Despite having no involvement in its production, Criss features in the album's artwork and the video for "Shandi", and also receives credit.
