Of the quincunx of Bob-related releases this year, we'd suggest you put this one in the center, and hold tight.

18 de sept. de 2012 · While Jack Sells the Cow is the second solo album of 2012 for Guided by Voices main man Robert Pollard, it's set apart from its predecessor, Mouseman Cloud, by its lack of collaboration with any of his GbV bandmates. Initially, Pollard going it alone sounds more or less the same as not.

21 de sept. de 2012 · Time, as a wise man once said, is on his side. However, time is a major issue with Jack Sells the Cow, in that it takes too long for the record to really get spinning. It’s impossible for any Pollard release, solo or otherwise, to go too long without delivering something memorable, but he comes close to blowing it here.
