26 de oct. de 2011 · In 1996, Jimmy Marinos returned to the band to record and tour. That same year, the King Biscuit Flower Hour released a live CD of a red hot Romantics show from 1983. Marinos left the band again in 1997, and Clem Burke again returned as his replacement on drums. "61/49" album. In 2003, the Romantics released their first new album in eighteen years.
21 de jun. de 2018 · Jimmy Marinos, the Romantics' original drummer, temporarily returned to the band for a series of performances in 1996–1997 (with Clem Burke returning to the Romantics' drumstool after Marinos departed again), and late 1990s nostalgia for 1980s pop culture caused a minor resurgence of interest in the band.
Guitarist Mike Skill had been in two bands with drummer Jimmy Marinos in the early 1970s including one that had played CBGBs but broke up after the gig. Through a recording session with Sirius Trixon, Skill says met Wally Palmer around 1975. When Skill’s next band fizzled, he peeked in on a show Palmer was doing at Hamtramck High School.

18 de feb. de 2009 · I still find Jimmy Marinos style of playing very interesting with a 4 piece kit & playing the drums with the handles of the sticks. When i saw them live in 1979,Jimmy was very loud but solid. It reminded me of all those drummers from the 1950's & early 1960's way of playing...
22 de mar. de 2021 · In 1984, drummer Jimmy Marinos left the Romantics, and he was replaced by David Petratos, who would serve as the band’s drummer until 1990. This lineup released one album, 1985’s Rhythm Romance, which peaked at #72 and only produced one charting single (“Test of Time” #71).
