While John Denver does a workmanlike job in the role of Jerry Landers it is clearly George Burns who steals the show in "Oh, God!".
And God said, “You know, Voltaire may have had me pegged right. He said I was a comedian playing to an audience who’s afraid to laugh.” Although God (or, rather, screenwriter Larry Gelbart) misattributes that quotation — it was written by H.L. Mencken, not Voltaire — this film offers a thoughtful gloss on the actual idea.
