Par rapport à l'album précédent, qui était une réussite, Craig Armstrong a un peu perdu de son audace. As if it is nothing s'apparente plutôt à une musique de film qu'on peu écouter en simple bruit de fond, à la façon d'un Ruichy Sakamoto. Il n'y a plus ce son percutant, très proche de celui de Massive Attack (album Protection).
