Billy was a well known session guitarist in the pub-rock/new wave scene when he joined Rockpile in 1976. Rockpile members Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe also utilized his talents as a guitarist on many of their early solo projects. He became a replacement for James Honeyman-Scott of Pretenders after Honeyman-Scott's death. Bremner played on both Learning to Crawl and Packed!.

This past October, Billy Bremner released Singled Out, adding to the legend of Rockpile.Since one normally associates Lowe and Edmunds first and foremost with Rockpile, I’m sure there are a few folks who wonder whether a Bremner retrospective is warranted.

Often overlooked on his own merits, the best of Billy’s solo material has finally been compiled on the excellent SINGLED OUT collection courtesy of RPM/Cherry Red.
6 de nov. de 2018 · The arrangement is very close to the Rockpile version and is an absolute joy to hear. SINGLED OUT shines the spotlight on an artist that is deserving of the same accolades that his former bandmates have been receiving all these years. Hopefully, this compilation will remind music fans just how talented Billy Bremner is.
