By "pop" I mean: "remove it from the list of positional arguments, and (optionally) assign it to a variable." Given how frequently I need this operation, I am a bit surprised that best I have found is what is illustrated by the example below:

Read $1 for the first argument before the loop (or $0 if what you're wanting to check is the script name), then use shift, then loop over the remaining $@. echo "$@"; # will echo all args. shift; # will remove first arg from the "$@". echo "$@"; # will echo all args except first one. edited Jul 3, 2023 at 14:46.

24 de ene. de 2024 · To remove the last directory from the stack, we type: popd -0. The ~/Music directory is removed from the last position in the stack. To change the directory, do something, and then hop back to the previous directory, you can use pushd and popd together. We'll use pushd to move to a different directory.
