  3. 26 de ene. de 2007 · This second album from Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, following 1984's stunning debut "Rattlesnakes", does not fall prey to the sophomore album jinx. While Cole's subject matter is always brooding and focused on the dark side of human relationships, "Easy Pieces" has a darker tone than "Rattlesnakes", but still provides perfect memorize the lyrics and sing along pop songs.

  5. Easy Pieces, smoothly produced by the team of Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley, succumbs to hazards threatened on the first LP. While the solid band remains unprepossessing, Cole’s vocals are overly stylized; quoting Bolan and the Beatles, his lyrics veer towards meaningless self-importance.

  7. 19 de sept. de 2015 · 72. Easy Pieces, oh, how the title says it. Tha138 for once has something interesting to say rather than a silly pun: Lloyd Cole And The Commotions go more commercial here. The result is noticeable: higher production value, a drum machine appears on one or two tracks. But that's not the real reason why this album is weaker.
