The group, whose name alternated between 'Ace Frehley' and Frehley's Comet, recorded a series of demos throughout 1984 and 1985. After a few unsuccessful attempts at securing a recording contract, the group eventually signed to Megaforce Records and released their first album, Frehley's Comet, on July 7, 1987.

Paul Daniel Frehley také Ace Frehley (* 27. dubna 1951 Bronx, New York) je americký rockový kytarista a bývalý člen americké skupiny Kiss, která byla založena v New Yorku v roce 1973.Spolu s ním ji založili Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons a Peter Criss.Hrál v ní mezi lety 1973 až 1982 a poté mezi lety 1996 až 2002.
Jugend. Frehley wurde im New Yorker Lebanon Hospital geboren und wuchs in der Bronx als jüngstes der drei Kinder von Carl Daniel und Esther Anna Frehley (geb. Hecht) auf. Sein Großvater mütterlicherseits stammte von der Insel Rügen. Die Frehleys waren eine musikalische Familie, 1964 bekam Ace von seinem Vater eine E-Gitarre geschenkt. Er brachte sich das Spielen autodidaktisch bei.
