Electro-Shock Blues is E's greatest accomplishment: a voyage to the abyss and then back out again. This is an album seeped in death, but enlivened by E's wry sense of humor. May be one of the most accessible avant garde records ever made (with a plethora of children's instruments, noise, and autoharps), largely because, as demonstrated on Beautiful Freak, E has a knack for hooks.
