26 de oct. de 2022 · Rogers & Spencer .44 Army: Possibly the Best Civil War Revolver. Amos Rogers and Julius Spencer ran a company making mostly farm equipment in the 1840s and 1850s. In 1859, they took on a firearms manufacturing contract (as mechanical fabrication companies often do) to make Pettengill revolvers.
Rogers & Spencer Army. A large-framed and robustly made pistol, this .44 calibre 6-shot percussion pistol which was designed and intended for cavalry use, never quite made it to the front line. Rogers & Spencer manufactured their Army revolver from a factory in Utica, New York between 1863 and 1865.
