Mission - Frequently cited as the most renowned high school in America, the Bronx High School of Science attracts an intellectually gifted blend of culturally, ethnically and economically diverse students. Scienceites, as the school's students are known, are supported by an actively involved Parents' Association, Alumni Foundation, and a core of skilled teachers who excel at their craft.
Students must be residents of New York City and current eighth grade or ninth grade students in order to apply, register, sit for, and receive results for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT). Current 10th and 11th graders cannot enter Bronx Science. The SHSAT is administered by the Department of Education in the fall.

Guidance/College Office. The role of the Guidance/College Office is to support the academic and emotional needs of our students. Counselors meet with students throughout the year to discuss various issues including: adjustment to high school, time management, study skills, career exploration, graduation requirements and college preparation.
