At young ages, our cadets are given leadership opportunities by staffing summer training events, planning unit drill sessions, and teaching others. While our cadets gain an appreciation for the sea services and military life, there is no requirement to join the military. Many former cadets enlist, and dozens attend service academies or ROTC.

The Kronstadt Sea Cadet Corps (Russian: Кронштадтский морской кадетский корпус) is a military boarding school of the Russian Navy.. History. The corps follows the traditions maintained by the original Russian cadet corps in the Imperial Russian Navy. The process of its creation began on 25 April 1995 by order of the Mayor of St. Petersburg Anatoly Sobchak.
When joining the Naval Sea Cadet Corps, cadets are required to have attended a two-week away-from-home recruit training in order to rise in rank and participate in advanced training sessions. League Cadets have the option to attend a one-week, away-from-home orientation, but it is not a requirement for rank advancement.

The Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps was incorporated in 1968. The Corps is not a vocational training institute but a government subsidized Uniformed Youth Organisation with cadet members aged 12-18. All cadets are required to wear uniform and to observe discipline : they will participate in training and activities during weekends and school holidays only.
