William "Billy" Sheehan (geb. 19 maart 1953, Buffalo, New York) is een Amerikaanse bassist, bekend van de bands Mr. Big en The Winery Dogs. Hij is tevens bekend van onder anderen Steve Vai, Talas, David Lee Roth en Niacin. Ook is hij een groot fan van two-hand tapping op de basgitaar.
Sheehan wird deshalb unter anderem oft als „the Eddie Van Halen of the bass“ bezeichnet. Die Firma Yamaha bietet zwei Billy-Sheehan-Signature-Modelle an. Der Attitude Limited 3 zeichnet sich vor allem aus durch die Möglichkeit, die Signale der beiden Tonabnehmer separat abzugreifen. Billy Sheehan ist seit 1971 Mitglied der Scientology-Kirche.
BIO. Billy Sheehan has changed the way bass guitar is played. Rising to cult status in the 80's with his Buffalo, NY based band Talas, Billy was recruited by David Lee Roth when Roth left Van Halen in '85. He recorded two platinum selling albums with the former Van Halen front man before setting out on his own.
