9 de feb. de 2007 · I think I originally bought it because I thought the album cover looked cool, with the lightning coming off of Lonnie's guitar, but I soon found that Bayou Lightning was far more substance than flash. If you're a fan of the blues, and for some reason aren't familiar with Brooks' work, pick up this album and give it a spin.
Son Ronnie Baker Brooks is a chip off the proverbial block, playing rhythm guitar in his old man's band and duetting on "Like Father, Like Son" on Lonnie's 1991 album, Satisfaction Guaranteed. Brooks' long association with Alligator Records continued into the late '90s with the release of Roadhouse Rules in 1996, which focused more on R&B than down-home blues, and Lone Star Shootout in 1999.

Love Lonnie Brooks and this is one of his best! Sadly this is also one of three Alligator Records ‘back catalogue’ CDS I bought that, upon checking, had a matrix no. on the playing side commencing with CD-R80 ! This wasn’t mentioned and for a lot of reasons I am less than happy.
