  2. I have been discovering Fleming since the release of the film "Casino Royale" and have found his books to be not only thrilling but also very well written. His prose is as lean, hard and ruthless as James Bond himself. He is a joy to read. Here in "Quantum of Solace" I was not disappointed.

Quantum of Solace is also the name of the Bond film from 2008,featuring Daniel Craig.It was the worst Bond film till that point,though the subsequent films aren't all that great either.However,the short story and the film have only the title in common.

The Hildebrand Rarity I did rather enjoy 5 shots of Bond, I think my favourite was Quantum of Solace, even tho it didn't really feature Bond, it was him being told a story. I find it really clever how Fleming manages to compact the background, build up, and the main event in so few words. Skill! ***THUNDERBALL***
