At one point, it seemed as though drug and legal problems would derail his career but in 2017, he returned in stunning form, reminding listeners everywhere that he remains one of the most devastating blues guitarists on the planet.

As evidenced by his debut album, 1991's Eric Gales Band, he has an overdriven tone melding hard rock- and R&B-infused blues licks that display his distinctly modern approach to the guitar, which prominently reveals the influence of Jimi Hendrix.
