William George Wyman (né Perks; born 24 October 1936) is an English musician who achieved international fame as the bassist for the Rolling Stones from 1962 until 1993. Born William Perks, he legally changed his surname to Wyman in August of 1964, the phonetic surname of a friend, Lee Whyman, with whom he had done national service in the Royal Air Force from 1955 to 1957.

Wyman had previously retired from the band after his work on the album Steel Wheels in 1989.. Wyman had been known as one of the quiet members of the group throughout their tenure and would occasionally contribute to the songs of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
