In 1991 she helped organize the 25 year reunion of the Red Dog Saloon, and went on to film the events to form the core of her first feature, The Life and Times of the Red Dog Saloon. Her father was one of the founders of the saloon, and she grew up hearing all of the fascinating stories.
Combining funky animation, archival footage and interviews with Red Dog regulars, this quirky, high-spirited film reconstructs the culture and times of the strip club, as well as the circumstances that led to Kim and Luke’s unorthodox life there.
