Steppenwolf se reformaron en 1974 y editaron el LP Slow Flux, pero se volvieron a disolver en 1976. Durante el periodo entre 1977 a 1980, la banda se reunió para girar en directo, esta vez sin Kay. Incluso llegaron a grabar un nuevo disco de estudio, Night of the Wolf en 1979, que permanece inédito.
17 de jun. de 2009 · Slow Flux (1974) features Children of the Night and Straight Shootin' Woman. Skullduggery (1976) is propped up by the title cut and Life is a Gamble. Steppenwolf unleashed a more sophisticated sound on these three LPs (mid-70s keyboards, pop-tinged harmonies and studio wizardry) and Kay's trademark vocals cut through unmistakeably.

Steppenwolf. Steppenwolf is a North Americanrock group that was prominent in the late 1960s. The group was formed in 1968 in Los Angeles by vocalist John Kay, guitarist Michael Monarch, bassist Rushton Moreve, keyboardist Goldy McJohn and drummer Jerry Edmonton after the dissolution of Toronto group The Sparrows, formed by John Kay in the early 60s, of which only Moreve was not a member.
