I recently spoke with Dennis Tufano, the man whose golden voice rocketed all those Buckinghams hits to the top of the charts. He discussed his days with the group, what led to their precipitous fall and dissolution, and how his career today has developed in ways he probably wouldn’t have imagined in 1967.

The group's attempts, however, led to a number of memorable pop hits, including the melancholy "Kind of a Drag" and the infectious "Hey Baby (They’re Playing Our Song)."

The world was introduced to The Buckinghams with their #1 single “Kind Of A Drag”. It was on the U.S.A. Records label from Chicago, just like the band. The single became #1 on February 18th, 1967, and stayed there for two weeks.
