  6. About The A-Bones. Garage-rock revivalists from Brooklyn, the A-Bones churned out a high-energy sound that was equal parts garage rock/R&B and psychobilly (drummer Miriam Linna was an early member of the Cramps). Linna and her husband, singer Billy Miller, were members of New York band the Zantees before launching the A-Bones in the mid-1980s.

  7. Most bones contain compact and spongy osseous tissue, but their distribution and concentration vary based on the bone’s overall function. Compact bone is dense so that it can withstand compressive forces, while spongy (cancellous) bone has open spaces and supports shifts in weight distribution (Figure \(\PageIndex{5}\)).
