Our purpose is to provide learning for people who want lasting work in the arts and entertainment economy. We admit applicants fairly and transparently with a range of qualifications and experience.
The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts was co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty (who helped set up The Brit School) who were introduced to each other by George Martin, a mutual friend. LIPA welcomed its first intake of students in 1996.
