The Warden, the novel's villain, owns and runs Camp Green Lake in the Texas desert. She's a tall, red-haired woman who is soft spoken but nasty: she knows that she's the most powerful person at camp and uses this to intimidate anyone who challenges or bothers her, children and adults alike.
Warden Louise Walker (b-1948), is the main antagonist of Holes. She is the granddaughter of Charles "Trout" Walker and Linda Walker. She even appears monumentally tall from Stanley’s perspective below ground level. Readers may note that the Warden never toils in the holes herself, she merely shows up when she believes something of value has been found.
