I've been thinking about this build for months now; the best bodyguard that doesn't use magic.What I've come up with is a warforged battle master that uses maneuvers to protect those around her.. At first level, I'd choose protection as my fighting style.. At third level I'd pick up disarming attack and goading attack.. At fourth level, I'd take the sentinel feat.
Actions. Enlarge (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). For 1 minute, the duergar magically increases in size, along with anything it is wearing or carrying. While enlarged, the duergar is Large, doubles its damage dice on Strength-based weapon attacks (included in the attacks), and makes Strength checks and Strength saving throws with advantage.

I'm playing a gnome wizard so I'm afraid for my character's life and want to hire a bodyguard. Is it even possible to get hirelings in AL games? We are very by-the-book. Would it be an uncool move to do this? The other players don't have any, and basically it would be doubling the length of my turns in combat, so maybe it would be lame.
