It was a change that was cemented with the release of Tim Burton’s 1988 Batman movie, a film which was greatly influenced by the darker, scarier world of The Dark Knight Returns .
It shows the release date of each cover. For DKR #1, the later printings all say on the inside cover if it's a 2nd or 3rd or later print. The 1st print would either say first print or not make note of the printing at all. There is no note of the printing so that’s why I got confused. Do you think that means it’s a #1.
This blending of Batman: The Dark Knight Part 1 and Part 2, released as a single cohesive whole under the subtitle (Deluxe Edition), is, quite simply, the best superhero movie ever put to screen. A testament to what can be done by basically translating your source material shot-for-shot.
